Hi there, like most of you reading this I am a father and husband. I have worked in Information Technology for the past 13 years in various roles and have always had a passion for all things Techie yet never decided to start a blog (until now).
Why start the After a layoff Blog?
The technology industry is a fast pace and very dynamic environment, which makes it an exciting choice for most careers. However after being in an environment that has been hit by layoffs and see co-workers and close friends lose their jobs I started to think:
- Am I next?
- What will I do if the worse should happen?
- Where do I begin?
Realizing that I had none of these answers and like most people, did not have a clue where to begin I decided to create a blog and document all information I can. My hope is that it will contribute to getting you back on your feet after a layoff. Maybe someday this blog will be a place where people can come and get help after this life changing event.
